6 months. 1/2 a year. 183 days.
That's how long we've had this girl.
Time is such a funny thing. As with all my children, there comes a point when you think, "was there ever a time we didn't have him/her"? It feels like they have always been around. We've reached that point with Miss Ivey. It's so natural to have her in our family that it is hard to believe just 6 months and a day ago we didn't have her.
When we talked about adopting a little girl after having 4 boys, we envisioned a little sweetie that loved to sit and color and play with dolls. Well...nope. This girl is so, so busy, crazy, everywhere, into everything. We love that about her, but man, we are tired!
What does Ivey like? Being outside, walks, watching animals from far away, being tickled, being chased, being carried around, baths, snacks, running, dumping things out, getting into medicine cabinets, coloring on things with pens, sliding down the stairs, attention from her brothers, ice cream, her thumb, but most of all she loves DISHRAGS.
Yes, a surprise to all of us was that she rejected all of our soft lovey blankets and adores harsh, textured dishrags. She steals them off my stove, pulls them out of the drawer, carries them all around the house, takes them to bed with her. It is so random and funny and so Ivey.
Ivey isn't really saying any words yet, but is starting to make pre-language sounds and starting to repeat sounds. She can pretty clearly articulate what she wants even without words. She is finally growing some hair (peach fuzz-ish). She takes one nap a day (she's 19 months old today) and is FINALLY starting to sleep through the night!
She is a ham and has all her brothers wrapped around her little finger. Ok....all of us. We did some strict cocooning in the beginning but are now able to let her be held and watched by others. She seems to be bonding well to us, even preferring daddy over mama. A daddy's girl, this one!
We are so blessed to have been gifted this girl and we don't take it for granted. Thank you Lord for our blessing #5!

LOVE that picture of her in the Easter dress. She looks so cute! I think I remember you saying that you couldn't wait for Ivey to wear it when you saw Lydia in it. :) Adorableness. So happy for your family. And holy smokes, the picture of you all together makes it look like you have a TON of kids! Hahaha! Love it!!!
