Meet our daughter!
As you may know from reading previous blogs, we started the adoption process from China last December. We had been praying and thinking about it for many years before this however.

When we started we were told it would take anywhere from 12-24 months. We had specifically requested a little girl, but didn't think that would change the wait too much.
Starting the process from Kenya was no walk in the park, but then again, adoption never is. We faced and conquered all the hurdles that came our way, including extra trips to Nairobi (4 hours away) and failed attempts at getting fingerprints done. God was faithful though, and 2 weeks after we left Kenya, our Dossier went to China! This was such a cool thing for me, a symbol of the fact that it had been worth it to start this crazy process from Kenya, throwing a 3rd country into the mix.
We came to the US and got caught up in reconnecting with family, moving into our rental house, adjusting to clean water and no donkeys in the street, and pizza you didn't have to make yourself. Much to our surprise, about 2 weeks after our arrival, we got a call from our case worker, saying she had a child's file that she thought would be a good fit for us. We were surprised that this was happening so soon, but were very, very excited! We spent a few days going over the file and her needs, talking to specialists and praying, and in the end we decided to accept it! We had finally found our girl!

Ivey Christina *(her Chinese name will also be a middle name) Mitchell
She is almost 10 months old right now and it is looking like we might be able to travel to get her as early as November/December. She will be one in October, and you better believe we will be celebrating her birthday whether she is here or not! :)
Thank you for those who have joined us in prayer up to this point and we covet your prayers for us in the months to come. It is so much harder to be apart from her now that we know who she is! Please pray for our whole family, including the boys, that our hearts will be ready for her and the change in our family. Pray for her little heart and all the changes she will soon be encountering!
