From Michigan to Kenya and back, this is the true life story of a crazy family and their desire to follow Christ, wherever that may lead them. Mounds of Stone is our best attempt to organize our thoughts, chronicle our lives, and keep our friends, family, and supporters updated on all things Mitchell. Each entry is a small mound of stones to memorialize where God has been faithful.

Pictures of our Place

Some of you have asked about pictures of our apartment, so here they are! As a fun little side note, there is at least one member of our family in every picture, if you can find them!

This is the school room. It is tiny, but it fits Cole and I!

The school table

This is the living room, taken from the dining room

A different view of the living room, the dining room is on the other side of the fire place and the open door you see is the school room.

This is Cole and Cooper's room

The other side of C and C's room

This is AJ and Tuck's room

The other side of A and T's room (the white things you see hanging are mosquito nets

The Bright Blue bathroom!

The ally in the back of the apt. We have a little storage room kind of by where AJ is standing, on the right. The open door is the apt door on the left.

Side view. We are the bottom apt. The big black thing is our rainwater tank.

Another view of the dining room.

There you have it, folks! Our Kenyan abode!

  2. Great post! I especially enjoyed finding a Mitchell in each picture. Even Eric got in on the fun! ;) Tommy's been missing AJ quite a bit lately. He'll bring him up out of the blue. Today on our way home from church he said something about AJ not knowing where Tommy went because Tommy's in Africa. :)
