From Michigan to Kenya and back, this is the true life story of a crazy family and their desire to follow Christ, wherever that may lead them. Mounds of Stone is our best attempt to organize our thoughts, chronicle our lives, and keep our friends, family, and supporters updated on all things Mitchell. Each entry is a small mound of stones to memorialize where God has been faithful.

Picture Post

Here are just a few shots of our past week. More to come soon, including our apartment, etc.

It is hard to see, but these are baboons we saw on the side of the road on our way from Nairobi to Tenwek.
Cole helping Geoffry hoe up the land for a garden! Beside them is the rainwater tank where we get our drinking water (which we still filter)

A new friend!

More new friends, the Espy girls, Julia, May and Ivey

My burned up granola :(

Our fun fellows

We went to our first birthday party here, one of the fellow missionary kids. I didn't have a gift or a bag, so this is what she got! (it's 500 shillings, not dollars!)

A bookcase we had made for our homeschool books! It only cost $40.

Anna's birthday party fun

Carry the water to the other side

Yummy treat of chocolate covered bananas

Pilly made the trek to Africa too!

Fun in a cupboard
Tucker is obsessed with this phone. No one will ever get ahold of us because it is always off the hook.

  1. Great pics! Keep them coming. Anna could not figure out how Cooper became friends with a lizard. :)
